Frank Hebert, CPA

Wealth Advisor
Frank Hebert is the proud parent of five children, and his oldest son Craig has been working with him since 2001. In 1968 Frank enlisted in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War, and served our Nation for six years before being honorably discharge as an Army Staff Sergeant. Frank has been a CPA for over 50 years, with his origins also starting in 1968 where Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (now KMPG) recruited him right out of college to perform audits and assist in their tax department. It wasn't long before he was scooped up by Mohasco Corp., a client of PMM, an served as their budget analyst. Mohasco Corp. later purchased and merged five regional furniture stores, which became CORT Furniture Rental, moving Frank and his young family from upstate New York to good ol' Bowie, Maryland in the late 70s.

As the first accounting manager for the national company, Frank literally wrote the book (the very first accounting policies and procedures system) for this newly established company. Soon After the five regional offices opened, Frank was recruited by each regional furniture store to be their regional controller. After careful review of each offer, and the ever growing number of Heberts running around in diapers, Frank chose the local office in Washington D.C. where he stayed for 18 years. He was finally promoted to corporate controller at the national level in Fairfax, Virginia, where he stayed for just a few short years before stepping back from corporate America in 1992.

Frank's next chapter, and the one that he is still writing, focused on helping families with tax and retirement planning, one dinner table at a time. He has helped hundreds of families identify and avoid costly roadblocks, while positioning assets in the most tax efficient manner possible. He volunteered his time and talents as a long time member and treasurer for the Bowie Council of the Knights of Columbus for over 14 years. He is a sought-after speaker on a host of pressing financial topics and has appeared at such venues as: National Security Agency (NSA), Kennedy Krieger Institute, Communication Workers of America / RMC Local 2108, Glenn Dale Senior Citizens Group, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and countless more venues.

Craig Hebert

Wealth Advisor

Craig is a second-generation financial advisor who learned the business from his father and co-owner, Frank Hebert. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Craig has a passion for helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals by providing personalized advice to each of his clients. A lot of his character stems from working in the social services world where he ran a counseling department that served adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. It was here that Craig solidified his belief that, "helping others will in turn, help yourself."

He quickly realized that everyone should have a voice and that people need to be heard. At that same time, his father Frank was working with a local attorney to draft legal documents to service his financial clients. After learning that the very same attorney was a guest speaker to the families at the non-profit organization that Craig worked for, he became inquisitive about what his dad was doing to help families on the planning side of things. A couple of conversations later, Craig discovered that he could leverage his knowledge of the Developmental Disabilities Administration and the social side of a family's situation with the financial side that his father was dually addressing.

That very next Monday morning, Craig entered his executive directors office and gave him his six month notice!

You see, Craig was also an outreach coordinator for the University Of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in the years leading up to working for the non-profit. He witnessed a fellow coordinator drop everything at a moment's notice when that person was offered a job, leaving behind several 4th and 5th grade afterschool programs scrambling for a replacement. That did not sit well with him, so Craig vowed to not let the excitement of the moment keep him from his obligations and duties. This was later put to the test when a recruiter offered him a very appealing career move in the financial industry, which would have left the students lost for a second time! As Craig politely declined the offer (one that he worked on acquiring for over 5 months - school was still in session so the timing wasn't right), he embraced the adage that when one door closes, another door opens... as long as you're willing to open the door.

In early 2001, there was a knock on the door and it was his father. He was looking for help and Craig was conveniently looking to move out of his parent's basement (Holiday... Wedding Singer reference). That was the beginning of Craig's journey to learn the financial side of a family so he could be of service to both sides, if needed. Since then, Craig's focus has been to help build, protect and provide for his clients and their financial needs. He has worked with clients from a variety of backgrounds and financial situations. He understands that each client has unique needs and goals, and he takes a comprehensive approach to financial planning, which may include: investments and insurance, retirement planning, social security optimization, tax reduction strategies, college planning, and estate planning.

Craig’s goal is to help families in all areas of their financial lives, with a strong emphasis on education funding and retirement income planning. By utilizing the latest tax and educational laws, he strives to drive down the cost of education and taxes, while increasing cash flow and money set aside for retirement. This translates into more money, more time and more fun!

In addition to his work as a financial advisor, Craig is committed to giving back to his community. He has served on some non-profit boards, including:

  • By Their Side – whose mission is to help developmentally disabled and intellectually challenged adults and their families with the difficulties in transitioning the role of a caregiver
  • Good Scouting Program – whose mission is to increase awareness and funding for Boy Scouts of America in the Baltimore Area Council
  • South Carroll Business Association – whose mission is to increase local business opportunities (B2B) and raise funds to provide college scholarships for students looking to pursue a degree in business/finance/entrepreneurship

When you work with Craig Hebert, you can trust that you will receive personalized attention and tailored advice to help you achieve your financial goals. He is dedicated to providing the highest level of service and support to each of his clients, and he looks forward to helping you build a secure financial future.

When not on a baseball field, football field or wrestling mat, Craig enjoys swimming, camping and sometimes golf. He is the proud parent of two ever-growing high school boys who keep him on his toes, as he loves to share his Dad Jokes. While pretending not to be amused, he knows that he catches their attention away from their devices and that brings him immense joy and laughter. Craig and his boys also love to try different foods and make pickles.
